Country and Rhythm In Motion
Country In Motion

Country in Motion performance dance troupe was founded in 1995 by Kathy Bailey, instructor and team director. They perform 6-8 shows per year for various community events. The season kicks off in March with the Westlake Street Fair. In April they entertain at the Chili Cook Off, then in May they dance at the Conejo Valley Days carnival. August is the anniversary of their debut performance at the Ventura County Fair. September brings the Thousand Oaks Arts Festival, and October boasts the Thousand Oaks Street Fair. Country in Motion presents a variety dance show, including choreographed line and partner dancing, clogging and two step. Our non-country set is called Rhythm in Motion, which features East and West Coast Swing, Salsa, Hustle and Night Club 2 Step with an occasional spotlight dance in Waltz or Tango. The solo dances are choreographed, but most of the partner dances are not, which keeps the performances exciting for dancers and audience members alike.

While many of the team members attend Kathy's classes, all that is required to be a performer is the ability to do the dances, enthusiasm, and attendance at the as-needed rehearsals. If you are not up to performing, Country and Rhythm in Motion would love to have you in their audience! Please see Kathy for more information.
